Incinerator Engineer / Operator
Location: Grantham
The Role
We’re looking for an Incinerator Engineer / Operator to take full responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of a GERI (Gas, Energy, Refrigerant, Incinerator) plant.
This is a hands-on role focused on maximising plant uptime, maintaining environmental compliance, and ensuring safe, stable operation—with no shift work or weekend duties.
Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor incinerator systems, maintaining stable combustion and process conditions

Control start-up, shutdown, and gas feed rates for optimal performance

Prepare plant for safe operation and planned maintenance

Identify and resolve process issues before escalation

Support both planned and reactive maintenance activities

Ensure compliance with environmental permits and emission standards

Maintain accurate records and clear handovers
-
Promote and enforce high safety standards at all times
What You’ll Be Working On

Combustion chambers, burners, and afterburners

Gas feed and storage systems
-
Pumps, compressors, and heat exchangers

Emission monitoring and control systems

PLC / HMI-controlled plant equipment
What We’re Looking For

Mechanical bias with Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)

At least 1 year of mechanical or process plant experience

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Comfortable in a fast-paced, production environment

Team player with a flexible approach within standard Monday–Friday hours
