Quality Assurance Technician
Role Objective / Purpose
To ensure the safety and quality of all products through documented examination, verification, and continuous improvement of processes, activities, and records.
Working Hours - 8am until 4pm - 3 weeks , 1 week 5am until 2pm- occasional overtime available.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure the safety and quality of all products by implementing Food Safety & Quality Assurance systems.

Work effectively as part of both the QA and Production teams.

Carry out QA and QC checks across all areas of the production chain, including temperature, specification, weight, traceability, calibration, cleaning, and tasting checks.

Monitor and control Food Safety critical points identified via the HACCP system.

Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures relating to Food Safety and Quality.

Support and monitor staff training in areas such as Basic Food Hygiene, HACCP awareness, GMP, Health & Safety, and general induction.

Liaise with Production regarding quality or food safety issues.

Investigate and respond to customer complaints and process issues, ensuring corrective actions are taken.

Monitor and investigate customer returns, providing analysis and feedback to relevant teams.

Maintain certification schemes such as BRC and Red Tractor.

Assist with customer visits, audits, and approvals, ensuring professional representation.

Monitor hygiene standards and take corrective action where required.

Participate in product tasting panels and complaint investigations.

Keep the QA/Technical Manager fully informed of key issues and developments.

Contribute to new initiatives aimed at improving standards and processes.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

GCSEs/A-Levels with minimum 1 year experience, or a relevant Degree.

Food Safety and Quality Systems training desirable.

Food manufacturing and BRC systems experience preferred.

Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.

Self-motivated, resilient, and able to work under pressure.

IT literate with good communication and teamwork skills.
