Shift Engineer – Food Manufacturing
We’re looking for a skilled Shift Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site, supporting production through both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
This role focuses on keeping equipment running efficiently, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across the site. You’ll work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure machinery is maintained to a high standard while maintaining strong health, safety, and quality practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults quickly and effectively
- Support preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime
- Assist with machine trials, improvements, and engineering projects
- Work collaboratively with production teams to maximise line efficiency
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health, safety, and quality standards
About You
- Apprenticeship-trained engineer with an electrical qualification (ONC or equivalent)
- Experience within a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing desirable)
- Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Able to prioritise work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
What’s on Offer
- Up to £56,000 basic salary
- 12-hour rotating days and nights
- Monday – Thursday shift pattern
- No weekend working
