An established and growing transport and logistics business is seeking a Transport Manager to lead operations across multiple transport divisions. You’ll oversee several transport functions — including general haulage, pallet network, and tanker operations — bringing teams together under one unified approach. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, proven operational experience, and the ability to develop and inspire others.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage transport teams across multiple divisions, including planners, drivers, and operational staff.
Foster a positive and high-performing culture built around teamwork, communication, and accountability.
Develop and implement personal development plans (PDPs) and conduct regular 1:1s to support team growth.
Oversee the day-to-day running of transport operations, ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards.
Take ownership of route planning, vehicle utilisation, and resource allocation to ensure efficiency and service excellence.
Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation and company policies.
Work closely with operations and planning teams to deliver outstanding service to customers across the UK and Europe.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, communication, and overall performance across the transport function.

Key Requirements

CPC qualification (essential).
Proven experience in transport management within general haulage, tanker operations, or pallet network environments.
Strong leadership and people management skills — able to motivate and unify teams across multiple sites.
In-depth knowledge of transport compliance, driver hours, and fleet management.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Confident decision-maker with a hands-on approach and a focus on continuous improvement.
