Temporary MIG Welder (Day Shift)
We are currently seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join our team on a day shift pattern, with the flexibility to also operate robotic welding equipment.
Shift Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 06:00 – 14:30
- Friday: 06:00 – 11:30
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Weld high-quality components, including setting up and operating a range of tooling and machinery such as MIG/TIG welders, punches, and other fabrication equipment
- Operate and assist with robotic welding equipment, with a willingness to learn and support automated welding processes
- Prepare, clean, cut, burn, and weld metal components to specification
- Set up and measure assemblies, selecting the most suitable welding method for each job
- Read and interpret welding drawings, technical plans, and specifications accurately
- Complete all required work documentation, records, and job sheets
- Maintain a safe working environment by following Health & Safety procedures and legal compliance requirements
- Use work equipment correctly, troubleshoot issues, and carry out preventative maintenance where necessary
- Meet quality and productivity targets while maintaining high workmanship standards
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Minimum Level 2 NVQ, indentured apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in a similar MIG welding role
- Welding qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Experience with robotic welding is beneficial, but training can be provided for the right candidate
- Strong numeracy and measurement skills
- Essential: ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
