PCB Final Assembly Supervisor

Department: PCB Production

Reports to: PCB Production Manager

Location: Newark

Employment Type: Full-time, Temp to Permanent

Working Hours 7am until 3pm or 8am until 4pm. Monday to Friday

Purpose of the Role

The PCB Final Assembly Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all activities within the PCB Final Assembly department to ensure the efficient, safe, and high-quality completion of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). The role focuses on delivering on-time results aligned with production schedules, maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards, and driving continuous improvement across people, processes, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Scheduling & Production Control

  • Collaborate with the PCB Production Manager to develop and execute the weekly production schedule.
  • Allocate sales orders and tasks effectively to Final Assembly Operators, balancing workloads and priorities.
  • Monitor workflow progress daily, proactively identifying bottlenecks and reporting production status or delays.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved without compromising quality or safety.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the PCB Final Assembly team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Ensure adherence to CCL PCB Assembly Instructions and company manufacturing standards.
  • Coordinate with Production Engineering to implement effective first-off builds and training programs.
  • Train team members in interpreting product specifications, component recognition, and proper use of assembly/testing equipment.
  • Maintain comprehensive training records and conduct regular refresher and cross-training sessions to build a flexible, multi-skilled team.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, process ownership, and accountability.

Quality, Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with CCL PCB Production Process QPR027, IPC-A-610, and IPC J-STD-001 standards.
  • Support ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001 Environmental Management requirements within daily operations.
  • Identify and report production or technical issues through the ticketing system, implementing corrective actions promptly.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of product quality and production issues within the Quality Database.
  • Conduct routine PCB Final Roving Inspections to uphold high manufacturing standards.
  • Enforce company safety protocols, ESD controls, and PPE requirements at all times.

Operational Excellence

  • Receive and manage incoming materials, ensuring proper allocation and traceability.
  • Track and report key KPIs such as efficiency, rework rates, and throughput performance.
  • Support 6S and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and H&S to ensure preventive maintenance schedules are completed.
  • Participate in SQCDP meetings, contributing to departmental reporting and improvement discussions.

Deputy Responsibilities (Manager’s Absence)

  • Oversee the PCB Resource Review process to maintain production continuity.
  • Manage MRP adjustments, including handling non-conforming parts and converting overruns.
  • Perform daily ‘P’ function operations and complete weekly payroll submissions.
  • Update and maintain the Quality Database with new job cards and related information.

  • Strong IT proficiency, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a PCB Assembly or Electronics Manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with lead-free process chemical streams.
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001 standards (certification desirable).
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and ISO14001 systems.
  • Proven track record in supervisory or team lead roles preferred.
