Lead Design Engineer – Water & Wastewater Treatment
Location: Huntingdon (Hybrid – 3 days WFH)
Salary: Circa £70,000 + Car Allowance

Are you a Chartered Engineer looking to lead high-profile water and wastewater projects?
We’re working with a leading industrial water treatment company seeking an experienced Lead Design Engineer to take ownership of engineering design packages from concept to commissioning on projects up to £5M+.
What you’ll do:

Lead all design aspects for water and wastewater treatment schemes.

Produce feasibility studies, process designs, PFDs, P&IDs, plant layouts, and equipment specifications.

Conduct tender-stage optioneering to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Review and validate third-party designs for compliance and optimization.

Support commissioning activities and develop technical proposals and tenders.

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and suppliers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
What you’ll need:

Master’s degree in Process, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.

Chartered Engineer status.

Extensive experience designing complex water and wastewater treatment systems.

Qualified in IOSH Process Safety and CDM Regulations (Designer).

Strong understanding of civil and MEICA disciplines.

Skilled in AutoCAD, PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment selection.

Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.

Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel.
