️ Design and Development Engineer – From £40,000+ DOE – Permanent Role

Job Type: Full-time | Permanent
Salary: Starting from £40,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour lunch break)

Job Summary

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering company for a skilled Tooling Design and Development Engineer to join their growing team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to support new tooling projects, provide technical expertise to the toolroom, and collaborate with international teams — including working closely with overseas toolmakers to ensure effective tooling design and development.

Key Responsibilities

Support all new tooling projects and provide technical support for the toolroom
Develop General Arrangements (GAs) and 3D models, ensuring compliance with company standards
Collaborate closely with Chinese toolmakers and other international partners to deliver robust tool designs
Participate in customer conference calls and meetings to develop product and tooling files
Attend internal and external meetings relating to current and future projects (including worldwide)
Provide tooling modification quotations and manage external tooling work
Advise internal and external design departments on optimal tooling requirements
Conduct mould flow analysis assessments to support process development
Attend tool trials in the UK and overseas (optional)
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations (HASAW Act 1974)
Undertake any other duties as required by the Head of Engineering

What We’re Looking For

Experience in tooling design and development within manufacturing or engineering environments
Strong technical knowledge of tooling, mould flow analysis, and CAD modelling
Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with international teams
Proactive and able to manage multiple projects effectively
Willingness to travel internationally for tool trials (optional)
