An established and expanding transport and logistics business is looking for an experienced Transport Manager to lead and oversee operations across multiple divisions. This is an opportunity for a people-focused leader who thrives on building strong teams, driving performance, and ensuring efficient, compliant transport operations.

You’ll manage a variety of transport functions — including general haulage, pallet network, and tanker operations — bringing teams together under a single, unified approach. You will have a proven track record in transport management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and develop people.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage transport teams across multiple divisions, including planners, drivers, and operational staff.
Foster a positive, high-performing culture built on teamwork, communication, and accountability.
Develop and implement personal development plans (PDPs) and conduct regular 1:1s to support staff growth.
Oversee day-to-day transport operations, ensuring compliance with legal, safety, and company standards.
Take ownership of route planning, vehicle utilisation, and resource allocation to maximise efficiency and service excellence.
Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, driver hours, and fleet management requirements.
Collaborate closely with operations and planning teams to deliver outstanding service across the UK and Europe.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, communication, and overall operational performance.

Key Requirements:

CPC qualification (essential).
Proven experience in transport management, ideally including pallet network operations, as well as general haulage or tanker experience.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and unify teams across multiple sites.
Excellent knowledge of transport compliance, driver hours, and fleet management.
Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
Hands-on, confident decision-maker with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
