Looking for a new role in Transport?
Your responsibilities will include:
- Controlling and managing transport to ensure the efficient running of the transport department maximising results from each day
- Liaising with Distribution Centres to keep deliveries on track
- Dealing with any failed deliveries by finding an alternative to ensure the customers receive their orders in a timely manner
- Co-ordinating the Loading activities so that all correct product from all areas flows out with the correct paperwork
- Being the contact point for the 3PL carriers and drivers
- Booking and management of jobs with third party hauliers
- Liaising with relevant contractors and third party hauliers
- Communicating with and updating other departments and stakeholders within the company
- Maintaining Proof of Deliveries (PODs)
- Updating running sheets with job details for costing
- Booking collection / delivery slots with external warehouses and ensuring loads are ready for collection / delivery
- Proactively developing the operation, people and processes to develop a culture of continuous improvement so the business can meet future demands
