Team Leader
Panama Shift 2,2,3 , Temporary to Permanent
Yaxley
£11.00 p/h


Your duties will include;

• Reporting of near misses witnessed on site and encourage staff to do the same.
• Actively support the production manager with solutions and ideas on improving health and safety on site.
• Completion of investigations around accidents and injuries.
• Ensure that the department runs with the agreed headcount, including agency ordered.
• Ensure adequate operational and management cover at all times.
• Ensure that all new employees and all new agency workers have had an induction.
• At the start of each production shift, ensure that all relevant line pre-start checks have been carried out and signed off. Confirm that any follow-up actions that might be required have been reported as necessary to the Factory Leader.
• To drive line efficiencies and to achieve and challenge / exceed performance targets.
• To successfully achieve all Key Performance Indicators and be prepared to report on all KPIs at the daily operations meetings. Attend the daily operations meetings.
• Ensure for each production team all documentation is being filled in accurately and in accordance with site Quality Procedures.
• Report to production manager on a regular and informal basis during each shift details of unplanned downtime and any other such problems which might impact on Customer Service and Production Performance.
• To take responsibility for stock control and stock rotation.
• Monitor waste and take a pro active approach with your team in reducing raw material waste within the department.
• Take responsibility for the storage of stock feed on site.
• To motivate and communicate clearly and effectively with your team. Ensure that appropriate training is given and recognise where training is required.
• To take ownership of the housekeeping standards both inside and outside the department and ensure that all staff are following Good Manufacturing Values & Behaviours at all times.
• Encourage your team to report all engineering and maintenance issues at the earliest opportunity.
• To promote the positive image of the company in order to ensure the continued development of the organisation.
• To promote a 'One Team Approach' across the business.
• Day to day management of factory staff ensuring that procedures and processes are being followed.
• Complete counselling sessions with staff if they breach any policies and procedures.
• Participate and complete investigations into conduct or misconduct.


The ideal candidate will have;

• Experience within food manufacturing environment
• Previous experience in a similar role is essential
• Knowledge of computer systems
• Exposure and experience of carrying out low level investigations and disciplinary meetings.
• Excellent customer service skills
• The ability to motivate and monitor their team
