Maintenance Engineer
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 13:30 – 22:00
About the Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-moving, family-run food production business. You’ll play a key role in keeping modern packing, grain processing, milling, and beverage production equipment running efficiently, ensuring maximum uptime and minimal disruption for internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) across all equipment.

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, including PLC, instrumentation, and HMI/SCADA systems.

Ensure all site PMs and legal checks are completed on schedule.

Follow and enforce Health & Safety procedures, maintaining compliance with current legislative standards.

Manage parts inventory, ordering essential items in advance to avoid delays.

Suggest and implement improvements to production processes.

Undertake any other reasonable tasks as required by colleagues.
Skills & Experience:

Mechanical/electrical qualification or equivalent hands-on experience.

Experience working on modern food manufacturing equipment.

Strong fault-finding skills, particularly with PLCs and instrumentation.

Knowledge of steam pipework, boilers (BOAS certification), HVAC, and chillers is advantageous.

Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
