Maintenance Engineer
(Must have both Mechanical and electrical experience level 3)
Location: Outskirts of Newark
Must have own transport due to the location.
4 on 4 off days and nights – 6am to 6pm then 6pm to 6am. Salary £45,000 pa
33 days holiday inclusive of Bank Holidays
We’re currently seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong technical background and a solutions-focused mindset to play a key role in maintaining, developing, and improving our fast-paced production site.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will:
- Deliver planned, predictive, and condition-based maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency across all production lines and equipment.
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns and production issues, ensuring continuous operation of the factory.
- Support site-wide engineering improvement projects, driving reliability and performance across the plant.
- Collaborate closely with Production and other departments to ensure maintenance priorities align with business goals.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, food safety, and company standards at all times.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene in all engineering areas.
- Monitor, track and report on all breakdowns, incidents, and engineering tasks using the correct reporting systems.
- Optimise usage of the engineering stores to reduce costs and minimise waste.
- Support the supervision and safety of external contractors working on engineering projects.
- Proactively identify and recommend plant improvements and efficiency gains.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Apprentice-trained or holds a relevant Engineering qualification.
- Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems (preferably with hands-on experience).
- Strong understanding of health & safety, risk assessments, and working in a safety-first culture.
- Computer literate (comfortable using Microsoft Office and maintenance systems).
- A motivated team player with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
