Our client is based close to Peterborough, Cambs and are a leading manufacturer of high-quality plastic products, dedicated to providing durable and reliable solutions for infrastructure and construction projects. They are seeking a skilled PLASTIC INJECTION MOULD SETTER who will responsible for the setup, operation, and optimisation of injection moulding machines to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. This role plays a critical part in maintaining smooth manufacturing processes, minimising downtime, and supporting a high-performing production team.

As the Supervisor/Setter, you will:

  • Set up, adjust, and maintain plastics manufacturing machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor & Troubleshoot machine processes to minimise downtime.
  • Conduct tooling changes safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within an injection moulding manufacturing environment as well as setting experience.
  • To change tools and keep machines running at their optimum capacity.
  • To be able to calibrate master batch units in accordance with setting sheets.
  • To monitor machine performance against calculated timing and quality standards and to act promptly to production problems to ensure minimal reject level.
  • Have good communication skills at all levels to be able to liaise with operators, supervisor and Production Manager with regards to production requirements.
  • Have reasonable level of computer literacy to key scrap quantities, downtime reasons and other information into our ERP system.
  • Able to demonstrate an organised approach and ability to cope well under pressure.
  • Have good numeracy skills and an ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, with a good standard of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
