Accounts Administrator

We’re recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking engineering and manufacturing company based in Newark for a proactive and versatile Accounts Administrator. This part-time opportunity is ideal for someone who has their AAT Level 3, with strong Sage 50 and Excel skills, or qualified by experience and looking to secure a temp-to-perm role in a supportive and professional team.

This role is perfect for someone looking to build their experience in a varied accounts and admin position, with the potential to secure a permanent position after the initial 7-month contract.

You’ll support the day-to-day running of the accounts and office admin functions, covering a wide range of tasks from bookkeeping and payroll assistance to reporting and general admin.

Accounting Support (using Sage 50):

  • Daily banking: BACS, direct debits, remittances, and online banking
  • Bank reconciliations
  • UK and international invoicing and payments
  • VAT returns (UK & EC Sales), Intrastat submissions
  • Foreign exchange transactions
  • Company credit card reconciliation, expenses, and costing
  • Petty cash handling
  • Maintain Excel trackers: labour cost analysis, projects, foreign transactions

Admin & Office Support:

  • Handling post and supplies
  • Coordinating project paperwork, technical manuals, and quotes
  • Supporting with customer communications and project tracking
  • PA-style support: booking travel, setting up meetings, general admin
  • Ad hoc support and general problem-solving

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience using Sage 50 and Excel
  • Confident multitasker with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong administrative and communication skills

 What’s On Offer

  • £13.60 per hour
  • Part-time hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am–2:30pm (25 hours/week)
