We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Yard Assistant to work for a client based on the outskirts of Newark. As a Yard Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations, including handling, loading, and preparing orders for our valued customers. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently organize and manage materials within the yard.
- Safely handle and load stock using appropriate equipment.
- Prepare orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all products are correctly labelled and packaged for delivery.
- Experience with a forklift is advantageous; however not essential.
- Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies.
- Keep the yard area clean and organised.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any issues.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet daily operational goals.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment is not essential but would be beneficial.
- Forklift operation experience is an advantage.
- May involve heavy lifting.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment or on own.
Monday to Friday, 0830-1730 (40 hours per week).
