Product Data Assistant

Would working for a long standing, well known and reputable high street brand be something that would be of interest to you? My client has been established for over 90 years and still going strong. They are constantly expanding and are currently looking for short term assistance in their product data department. 

As a Product Data Assistant, you will be responsible for the accurate capture, input and maintenance of master data, building effective working relationships with suppliers to achieve continual end to end data integrity and continuity across the trading function.

The Key Responsibilities of the role are: 

  • Ensure the accurate, timely capture and input of all required data onto the system, maintaining consistency and addressing shortfalls to deliver the smooth flow of all required data to and between all dependant business functions.
  • To action supplier set up and ongoing maintenance via the system after review of credit risks via D&B reporting tool and validating with the supplier to ensure that all agreed terms and conditions are captured along with required supplier data which meets the identified criteria for use across all depts.
  • Responsible for the validation of all article and supplier data actioned through the RCS and followed up with the NAF form and status requirements. Liaising and communicating with the supplier on any inaccuracies before loading onto the SAP system.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining effective working relationships with suppliers to develop a right first-time attitude toward data, minimising the potential for queries.
  • To manage the end-to-end lifecycle of the data within the relevant PLM system to maintain the integrity of the data held throughout the different article statuses and therefore to ensure continuity of input.
  • Escalate shortfalls in the critical path to the Category Management Team and Product Data Lead to ensure the live status of articles is kept on track, through use of the article monitor and Trading Status Planner.
  • To ensure that all mass upload data collected is validated and to the correct format in order to prevent any data processing errors from the mass upload application.
  • To ensure that the correct article detail/enhanced detail is requested and obtained in order to accurately input the required level of data to meet the wider business requirements.
  • Responsible for the test scanning and the checking of barcode and prices for all status 40 lines to ensure smooth launch at store level.
  • Managing heat calls raised on behalf of store managers, customer service departments and distribution centres, ensuring resolution in a timely fashion.
  • Responsible for supplier set up and ongoing maintenance via the system after CDM review. Ensure supplier data which meets the required criteria for use across all depts.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

  • Knowledge skill and understanding of SAP, ECC operating systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with an understanding to spot and remedy errors.
  • Ability to manage high work volume to often tight deadlines.
  • Good planning and organisational skills with an ability to work unsupervised and flexibly.
  • Numerical skills, data base and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of article and article detail.
  • Knowledge of key end to end business process.
