We currently have an exciting new opportunity for an Operational Buyer to join one of our established manufacturing clients based in Mansfield.
As an Operational Buyer you will manage a portfolio of suppliers and materials and will have full ownership of Purchase Order placement, rescheduling and acknowledgment alongside invoice queries, quality notifications and material price variances associated with the portfolio. You will also identify and deliver process improvement opportunities.
- Generate purchase orders in line with guidelines and seek supplier acknowledgements to deliver targets on time, and ensure that quality and delivery requirements are adhered to at all times
- Coordinate and be responsible for specifically agreed projects as agreed with the management team
- Continually seek and identify areas for improvement, in line with the strategic direction of the purchasing organization with a view to improving service levels to customers
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of progress within buying and procurement and the drive to develop within the procurement environment, alongside proven negotiation experience. You will have excellent administration skills and be comfortable with developing and presenting business cases on a variety of topics, alongside creating and implementing solid improvement ideas.
A background in buying for a mechanical/electrical company would be of benefit, and a CIPS Level 4 qualification would be desirable but is not essential. Experience with SAP would also be beneficial.
