Multi Skilled (Mechanical & Electrical) Maintenance Engineer
Temp to Perm or Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 0700 - 1530
The Role
We are looking for a Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support operations within a processing and manufacturing facility. This role offers a varied and hands on engineering environment, focused on equipment reliability, continuous improvement, and maintaining high operational standards across the site.
Working across various processes, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring machinery and site services operate efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) across plant equipment and site services
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
- Support the reliable day-to-day operation of processing and production equipment
- Complete maintenance schedules and statutory checks within agreed timeframes
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with health & safety procedures and current legislation
- Identify opportunities for equipment and process improvements
- Manage spare parts requirements and ensure timely ordering of critical components
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across operations and engineering
- Assist with additional engineering tasks as required
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Mechanical and/or electrical qualifications, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Experience within a manufacturing, processing, or industrial environment
- Knowledge of modern automated equipment, including SCADA and HMI systems
- Experience fault-finding on PLC-controlled systems and instrumentation
- Experience with HVAC systems and chillers ideally
- Steam systems or boiler room certification would be advantageous
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
- A proactive, adaptable, and organised working style
