Membership Development Officer

The Membership Development Officer role is key to supporting all members across the country with a focus on building the membership strategy for the business.

This is a demanding, fast-paced role which requires good time management and attention to detail. You will have strong communication and influencing skills. You will be responsible for sharing insights on the challenges the members navigate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Main point of contact for all members to provide support and maintain contact.
  • Liaise between members and supporting groups.
  • Identify areas where support and representation is lacking to identify opportunities to grow all membership.
  • Identify opportunities to grow all membership.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to all members and convert non-members to active members.
  • Project support as and when required
  • Effectively handle communication and email correspondences promptly
  • Maintain and develop new member welcome packs
  • Attend events and meetings
  • Monitor and evaluate objectives within the development plan
  • Communicate regularly with members both verbally, written, visually and in person when required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in the charity sector is desirable
  • Proven experience of working with a membership organisation
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in developing membership engagement initiatives
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage conflicting demands and deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Previous networking experience and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be part of a small team
