If you’re a material controller and your keen on progression then this maybe the job for you.
This is a varied role and no two days will be the same. You will be responsible for maintaining and reviewing stock levels to achieve maximum stock turnover, and target levels at a minimum organisation cost.
Using excel you will monitor usage patterns taking into account production fluctuations to ensure that accurate forecasting can be achieved.
Using an MRP system you will identify current and future requirements so that forecast schedules can be formulated and issued to suppliers.
You will look at stock availability, stock control, deliveries, invoices queries and maintenance and creation of billing.
You will be given the opportunity to get involved in new processes to improve efficiency and contribute to improving the department.
Ultimately, you will assist the Engineering Director in controlling the department and the budget and this is where the progression comes in to play.
