We are recruiting for an experienced Machine Supervisor to oversee the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of a process plant in Grantham.
This is a hands-on operational role suited to someone with strong mechanical knowledge and experience managing plant machinery and process systems within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
You will be responsible for maintaining plant performance, ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently, and supporting stable production across all shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of plant machinery and process systems
- Monitor and maintain stable operating conditions including temperatures, pressures, and system performance
- Ensure plant equipment is running efficiently, safely, and within operational parameters
- Prepare the plant for consistent overnight running, ensuring systems are balanced and alarms or faults are resolved
- Support planned and reactive maintenance activities to minimise downtime
- Ensure machinery and plant systems are safely isolated and prepared for maintenance work
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, assisting with fault finding and restoring operations efficiently
- Carry out routine operational checks and maintain accurate plant records
- Monitor consumable usage and ensure critical spare parts are readily available
- Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with site procedures and operational standards
Key Requirements
- Previous experience supervising machinery or plant operations within a manufacturing, process, or industrial environment (essential)
- Strong mechanical awareness with a Level 3 qualification or equivalent preferred
- Experience working with industrial machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, motors, pumps, or similar systems
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to preventing downtime
- Ability to work independently and manage operational priorities effectively
- Flexible approach to work with the ability to support operational requirements across shifts
