Invigilators support the Exams Team with the day-to-day operation of examinations, ensuring all set procedures are adhered to, supporting candidates during the examination and maintaining examination conditions.
- Part Time role – 'as and when' contract for 6 months, with an hourly salary of £9.72 Per Hour
- Location – Based at ACL Chelmsford, but must be willing and able to travel to other ACL sites in the Centre of Essex, specifically Maldon and Chelmsford and on occasion ACL Harlow.
Accountabilities:
- Contributing to setting up examination venues by laying out stationery, setting up computerised testing equipment and handling examination papers in accordance with the outlined procedures.
- Checking learner ID to establish legitimacy of entry to the examination in progress.
- Invigilating during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with strict procedures.
- Responsible for recording details of any absences from the examination room, including short term.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Effective oral/written communication skills.
- Good numeracy skills essential.
- Basic IT literacy essential.
- Evidence of accuracy and attention to detail with a flexible approach to work.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines essential.
