Chief Technical Officer, £60,000 to £80,000 per annum

This role will be accountable for leadership of all company technical operations including: excellence, strategic planning and development, innovation, efficiency, and compliance. Responsibilities will include managing technical operating costs, ensuring efficiency KPIs are met, service and product development and innovation
Job Description:
• The leadership of individuals working across all technical operational functions
• Contribute to company margin performance by managing technical operating costs and
delivery efficiency
• Develop and implement the technology strategy - ensuring it serves the company’s
overall business strategy
• Work with other departments to introduce new technologies to streamline the company
policies and rules
• Oversees IT budgets
• Develop and direct all networking safeguards to reduce the risk of outside breaches
and protect sensitive internal and external client information
• Develops and implements all internal communication systems, such as SharePoint,
email and instant messaging
• Plans and implements appropriate technical standard operating procedures (SOPs) and
policies
• Evaluates new technology and makes recommendations on technological solutions
• Produces and delivers presentations to the board of directors and chief executive officer
and external clients where required
• Directs the development and implementation of policies in instances of a breach
• Lead the technical development roadmap and innovation workstreams
• Lead and manage all IT suppliers and contractors
• Contribute to the development, delivery, and reporting of an evidence base and
corporate KPIs

• Proven leadership style and a demonstrated ability to communicate and execute strategy
• Proven self-starter, commercially focused, detail-oriented and highly motivated
• Highly planned and organised over a 5-10 year time window
• Proven track record in technical operational efficiency
• Experience in managing Profit and Loss, cash flow models, and balance sheets
• Planning and managing technical roadmaps and 5-year development projects
• A deep understanding of the NHS technical environment, future strategies, and operation
• Strong knowledge of budget management and business processes
• A detailed understanding of the critical areas of compliance and regulation within a
healthcare technology and data environment
• Strong process development, process management, and process documentation
Experience required:
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Proven experience in a CTO or similar leadership role
• A track record of over 5 years working in or in partnership with the NHS
• A strong understanding of the technology and data landscape within life science and
healthcare
• Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience and people management
• Proven experience of strategic technical development and execution over 5 years
• Experience of implementing Data Security Policies, incorporating ISO27001, Information
Governance of Healthcare Data and GDPR compliance.
• Extensive knowledge of healthcare technology landscapes, policies, and drivers
• Extensive experience with management of large, complex projects and teams
• Experience of cultural and corporate value development
