Assembly Technician - Electrical & Mechanical

****We are looking for an Assembly Technician to join a manufacturing team for our client in the NG25 area. The position is central to the operations of the business and requires an individual who is organised, has attention to detail and who can work well independently as well as part of a team****

Package

- Full time

- Monday - Friday

- 8.30am - 5pm

- £24,000 - £25,000 per annum dependant on experience

- Company pension scheme

- 20 days holidays per year plus 8 bank holidays.
(Additional holiday can be accrued after 2 full years service up to a maximum of 25 days
per year)

- On site fitness area and gym - free of charge for use before and after work

Responsibilities

  • -To assemble and fit out a range of products including all the electrical and plumbing requirements.
  • -To prepare and pack equipment for delivery to site in accordance with customer requirements and to suit the schedule of the project co-ordinator.
  • -To keep the workshop area free of hazards, safe, tidy and organised, to ensure stock levels are maintained and kept in good condition.

Duties

  • - Assembly of the electrical wiring of control panels (PLC)
  • - Assembly of the plumbing of control panels (training given)
  • - Assembly of all mechanical and electrical equipment
  • - Testing and monitoring of equipment prior to delivery
  • - Quality check and testing of equipment prior to delivery
  • - Prepare and pack all equipment to suit the production schedule
  • - Load and offload equipment from delivery vehicles
  • - Keeping standard of Health & Safety high in the workshop areas
  • - Keeping own workspace clean, tidy and free of debris
  • - Manage and maintain stock levels and notify the Technical Director of re-ordering requirements well in advance
  • - Assist with stock counts
  • - Recyling/ disposal of waste and packaging in an environmentally friendly and safe way
  • - Carry out all administrative work relating to your activities e.g. filing, updating hard copy and digital records on our database
  • - Assisting other members of the team with technical queries
  • - Assisting customers with technical queries
  • - Assist with research and development of new products as required
  • - Liase with accounts administrator to ensure all incoming and outgoing deliveries are recorded
  • - Any other reasonable tasks which may be required from time to time.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • - Electrical engineering qualification BTEC Level 3 or equivalent with minimum of 3 years experience required
  • - Computer literate with experience of the basic Microsoft packages (word/excel)
  • - Ideally qualified to operate a forklift truck
  • - Understanding of Health & Safety at a workshop/manufacturing level
