    Job Description

    Our Client based in Newark, are now seeking an Accounts and Purchasing Assistant to work cross-departmentally with their Accounts and Procurement Departments.

    This role would suit candidates who have accurate attention to detail, professional telephone manner and who are very organised. As this is a technical-led, being technically astute would be beneficial.

    This is a full time and permanent positon, Mon to Fri 9am-5pm.

     

    THE JOB

    As an Accounts and Purchasing Assistant you will have the following responsibilities (not exhaustive):-

    • Ensure stock availability across all standard product range
    • Generate and sending supplier purchase orders
    • Review stock and procure replacements as necessary
    • Maintain and update costing and/or price lists as necessary
    • Interacting with suppliers on a daily basis
    • Monitor supplier performance
    • Resolution of purchasing / supplier queries
    • Resolve invoice / shipment queries
    • Liaise with shipping agents, scheduling and monitoring shipments and updating system accordingly
    • Champion the sourcing of new products, obtaining samples and pricing as required
    • Manage supplier returns
    • Produce purchasing / performance reports as necessary

     

    Person Specifications

    THE PERSON

    The following skills are essential:-

    • Effective communication both written and verbal
    • Proficient with all Microsoft Office software applications
    • Attention to detail
    • Process driven with a methodical approach
    • Excellent communications and teamwork skills
    • Able to analyze data and present accordingly
    • Experience in a commercial or sales role would be advantageous, but not essential.

    The successful candidate will be well organized, effective, efficient, technically and commercially astute and ambitious to grow their role within their forward thinking and fast growing company.
