    Job Description

    This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of ambitions personnel who are acting as an employment agency.  

    Our client based on the outskirts of Colchester are looking for an Accounts Assistant on a temporary – permanent basis due to the current incumbent leaving 26th to go into a teaching role, therefore they are looking for someone to start asap. This opportunity would suit a self-motivated, persistent individual who has proven experience in taking the accounts up to trial balance. As well as the ledgers you will also be responsible for fixed asset registers and journals.

    Key responsibilities & duties of the role:


    ·         Undertake sales order processing and invoice/credit note generation

    ·         Create & raise new projects in accounting system 

    ·         Liaise with clients on any account enquiries such as paid invoices, part paid etc.

    ·         Submitting sales invoices to clients

    ·         To support and provide holiday cover for Sales Ledger Clerk

    ·         To invoice and manage all claim submissions

    ·         Create and maintain the Work in Progress monthly report to tight schedule, ensuring accuracy of reporting.

    ·         Creation of Cost Value Reconciliations (excel spreadsheets)

    ·         Maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register (excel spreadsheet)

    ·         Reconciliation and preparation of schedules for various balance sheet nominals (excel spreadsheets)

    ·         Posting of nominal journals

    ·         Maintaining auditable trails

    Person Specifications

    ·         Good knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced excel skills

    ·         Proven accounts experience

    ·         Well organised

    ·         Experience of using Sage Line 50 and/or 200 prepared to undertake internal training

    ·         Good customer relations skills

    ·         Ability to use own initiative
