    Job Description

    This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of ambitions personnel who are operating as an employment business.

     

    We are recruiting on behalf of a successful, well established Warehouse based in Grantham. Due to an internal promotion this company is now looking to hire a successful Warehouse Team Leader with a proven track record within the warehouse sector and managing teams of 20+ Warehouse staff.

     

    As the Warehouse Team Leader you will be responsible for the day to day running of an operational team within the Warehouse and ensure the accurate and timely provision of Customer orders. 

     

    This is accomplished by working with all teams across the Distribution Centre, by carrying out agreed tasks and achieving targets through the effective management of a team, systems and processes.

     

    Warehouse management:

    • Plans and prioritises daily and weekly tasks, distributing workload and ensuring that all employees have sufficient tools and resources in order to meet daily team targets and requirements.
    • Ensuring labour resource levels are appropriate to manage daily and weekly targets including proactive holiday and absence management as well as daily and hourly productivity within their teams
    • Be aware of the site Key Performance Indicators and plan and organise resources accordingly, with the aim that the site performance will exceed Customer expectations.
    • Be an advocate for Continuous Improvement
    • To understand how their role within the Warehouse impacts on the overall Client / Customer Experience

     

    People management:

    • Manages the team on a daily and weekly basis, including planning the labour resources, setting goals and targets.
    • Motivating the team to ensure that it is operating at its maximum performance, by using strong leadership skills.
    • Responsible for individual welfare, and performance, including carrying out return to work interviews and holding meetings in line with employee relation processes as appropriate, e.g. grievance, disciplinary and capability.
    • Reviews individual performance, both on a regular and annual basis, setting objectives, identifying ongoing training needs, sourcing appropriate solutions and looks to develop all team members to carry out a wide range of tasks within the Warehouse to ensure that skills are retained for all areas.
    • Supporting and working as part of the Management Team of the Warehouse, across all Warehouse Departments.

     

     

     

    Health and Safety

    • Ensures that all site health and safety policies and processes are adhered to in order to maintain a safe working environment.  Supports and champions Health and Safety in the Workplace.
    • Carries out Risk Assessments and Accident Investigations as required.

     

    Person Specifications

    • Proven Warehouse experience
    • Proven managerial experience
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Competent user of MS Office and Outlook
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Experience in leadership and people development.
    • Must have previous warehouse supervisory experience
    • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
