National Apprenticeship Week is taking place between 5th and 11th February and is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of apprentices around the country and the positive impact they make to communities, businesses, and the wider economy.

We're pleased to take this opportunity to celebrate our own Apprentices, who do a great job within our business. In this blog, we're in a Q&A with Amelia Howard. Amelia joined our Lincoln branch in January 2024 and is currently undertaking a Level 3 Business Administration qualification via Linden Training.
What made you consider doing an Apprenticeship?
I decided to do an apprenticeship as it gives me the opportunity to gain the right skills and experience in a chosen sector. It gives me the chance to earn whilst I’m working towards a qualification. An apprenticeship gives me a real-life understanding of what the job entails rather than being in a classroom atmosphere.
What does an average day look like for you?
No day is the same when working at Ambitions Personnel. I could start by checking my emails or catch up uploading any documents from the day before. Some people may come into the office looking for work, we would have to find a suitable job which they match the requirements for. Once they’ve registered, I would sit and upload their details and documents to our system. During this time, I may have to phone people booking them in for a job induction, a space may have become available or extra dates could have been added.
What was your first day like?
My first day at Ambitions Personnel was very welcoming, I got introduced slowly to how everything works, so I didn’t get overwhelmed. My managers and colleagues made it very clear to ask any questions if I have any, if there is anything I’m struggling with.
Would you recommend doing an Apprenticeship?
I recommend doing an apprenticeship if you work better on the job, rather than in a classroom setting. An apprenticeship could be a good option if you would prefer gaining experience as well as knowledge with training, support and resources to help improve your skills.
